No. Your storage unit is private and secure.
If you use a traditional padlock, only you hold the key, and our staff do not keep copies on-site.
If you use our ONE Lock system, only you and a limited number of authorised managers can access your unit. This is strictly for emergencies or situations such as non-payment, as outlined in our Terms & Conditions. The ONE Lock system also provides full accountability, with a digital record of every access.

Our Smart Lock, also known as ONE Lock, lets you lock and unlock your storage unit using your smartphone for a secure, keyless, and convenient way to access your unit.*
How Smart Lock works:
- Download the ONE Lock mobile app on your smartphone
- Sign in with your account credentials
To unlock your unit:
- Hold your phone against the lock
- Select “NFC open” in the app and use the bullseye to ensure the NFC is in the correct location
To lock your unit:
- Repeat the process by selecting “NFC lock”
- Wait for the confirmation tick
- The Ready Steady Store App will ask you to confirm the lock is secured before leaving

Please note: If your account is overdue, access to your unit may be temporarily restricted until payment is made.
You can allow another person to share access to your Ready Steady Store unit, but only if they are authorised on your storage account.
The main account holder remains responsible for the unit and its contents. You may nominate an additional person to be added to your account, so they can access the unit.
For security reasons, we cannot give access to anyone who is not listed on the account.

Yes. Ready Steady Store provides trolleys at all of our stores to make it easier to move your belongings in and out of your unit.

Most Ready Steady Store stores are designed with easy vehicle access, but restrictions can vary slightly by location.
- Cars & small vans – All stores allow access for cars and standard-sized vans.
- Larger vans & lorries – Many stores can accommodate larger vehicles, some access routes may be limited
- Parking – Customer parking and loading bays are available at most stores for convenient loading/unloading.
- Drive-up units – Selected stores offer outdoor drive-up storage for direct vehicle-to-unit access.

If there’s an emergency at your Ready Steady Store Bradford Marrtree unit, follow these steps:
- Contact emergency services
Call 999 immediately for the Police, Fire Service, or Ambulance if needed. - In case of fire
Activate the alarm by breaking the glass on one of the fire alarm points located within the storage area.
Promptly exit the building promptly and head to the assembly point located at the front of the store, by the main gate signage. - Site access for emergency vehicles
